Back in 2014 UBF did a Canada Night with Canada UBF.
Here I will go over the section where they talk about Canada UBF being "persecuted" in the 1980s
8. The Winnipeg ministry, almost from the outset, underwent persecutions in one form or another. In the early years it was focused on the University of Winnipeg which was downtown, and was mainly centralized in one building. Sometimes students would be approached a number of times in one evening and would complain to the campus police. They began to warn the missionaries and even took their pictures to post in their office. One of our missionaries was taken to the police station. The student paper would periodically run articles against UBF, even the Winnipeg Free Press ran a full page article once. The missionaries were finally banned from the campus and had to invite students around the campus, at libraries, parks and even shopping malls. At the same time deprogrammers were becoming very active and public. It was intimidating to many students. The persecution followed us to the University of Manitoba when we tried to change campuses and it became too restrictive to do virtually anything. But God used this to expand our vision to pioneer 252 Canadian campuses and God began to send us out across Canada beginning in Ontario and then Quebec and finally western Canada.

Here UBF is playing the victim card.
Sometimes students would be approached a number of times in one evening and would complain to the campus police.
Did UBF ask the students why they did that? No. They just assume that the students have something against Christianity when most of the time that's not the case.
One of our missionaries was taken to the police station.
This is half-true. A UBF member did get apprehended by the police. But it wasn't a UBF "missionary" (aka ubfkorean) but a native. Here's the proof:

As a servant of God, a believer whose purpose in life is to please God, my perspective is different from those who don’t have a similar perspective,” said Giesbrecht." He is probably referring to the Manitoban Cult Awareness Centre whom at the time was full aware and informed of UBF

By God he is referring to the UBF founder Dr. Lee himself. Lee was the one who ordered the UBF "missionaries" to relocate. The reason why they relocated to Ontario and Quebec in particular was because at the time those area were not aware of UBF, how UBF operates and it's history at Winnipeg. But now anyone can easily access information on UBF online.
